These, alongside fancy garden artwork, British and old garden roses, fragrant geraniums, herbs, vines and small trees produced the room a wonderful and special spot to visit. In 2000 Mary Lou Heard was identified as having cancer and couple of years later she would shut her precious room, and in her final Heard’s Country Garden Publication she wrote. “Though you can find still additional gardens in my own heat that need to be planted – the human body is calling for a rest. Stating good-bye is the hardest thing I have had to do.”
