Religious specialness describes people working out their egos’ specialness, but disguising it as spiritual dress. That often is available in the shape of thinking they’ve received “special” recommendations, “special” favors, or “special” commissions from “special” divine people such as for instance Jesus or the Sacred Soul, all of which acts to create these folks spiritually distinctive from the others and thus more “special” (Few Choose To Listen, p. 141).
